Silver and Gold Rings

The history of the rings dates back to ancient times. In ancient Egypt for example the rings were considered amulets which role was to protect from the evil spirits. During the middle ages the rings protected against illness – there were special rings against the severest diseases. Today we know nothing about the rings’ special qualities and use them as mostly as jewelry. Rings have also ritual function – we use them at wedding ceremonies.

In Ireland for example it is considered that if the wedding ring is not made of gold, that would bring a misfortune to the young family.

Of course mainly people wear rings for aesthetic reasons. Golden and silver rings are preferred in most cases. Design is very different – from the very modern design to replicas of ancient rings. It is all up to the taste of the person who is going to wear it.

The choice of gold or silver ring depends on several things. Usually people like more gold than silver but gold rings are significantly more expensive. So, budget is the first thing. The second one is the personal taste. Sometimes people consider the gold bounding and heavy and the silver – more artistic. Regardless of the material the model has to be elegant and simple in order to be stylish.
