Costume jewelry has many names. Some are gentle as fashion jewelry for example; others like junk jewelry are rather direct. In practice, costume jewelry was designed in order to answer a certain necessity, namely the necessity of fitting specific costumes.
Costume jewelry originates from the 30ies and was meant to be a short-life tendency but it survived for much longer and we still enjoy its products today.

Introduced by Coco Chanel during the Art Deco period, costume jewelry develops further in the Retro period and Art Modern period.

Costume jewelry is suitable for young women and does not require a special dress style. It goes well with a dress but also with jeans and sport shoes.
